Responding to Coronavirus (COVID-19)

We find ourselves in unprecedented territory as a nation as we flex to the changing situation in response to COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

 

Following the Prime Ministers briefing, the announcement by both Archbishops and then from the Bishop of Chichester.

With immediate effect:

  • Public worship is suspended until further notice
  • Other non essential church meetings are also suspended
  • Weddings, funerals and baptisms will go ahead, but with limited attendance of immediate family
We regret that in accordance with Government requirements we are not able to offer Weddings or Baptisms at this time. We are permitted to offer funerals as graveside or crematorium services only with limited attendance and in line with the Government requirements on social distancing. We recognise that these restrictions will cause difficulty and distress and we want to assure you of our prayers and support. If you would like pastoral or spiritual support please see our Coronavirus helpline details. If you want to speak to us about a funeral please contact our office number at 01903 893648 or email caroline.armitage@chanctonbury.org.uk

As a church we are praying for all in our community to be free from all fear and anxiety:
