Seniors

‘God sets the lonely in families’

Psalm 68:6

Every month on the second and fourth Thursdays from 10:30am to 12pm, you are invited to join us for free coffee and cake at Ashington Church for a time of refreshing and connecting with others – all ‘seniors’ welcome!

Our seniors ministry at Ashington Church is centered around a twice-monthly seniors cafe where we get to spend some amazing time amongst the older members of our community.  It is wonderful to hear of all the things they have done and seen in years past.  The Cafe is brilliantly run by our amazing team of volunteers that set up the church, make tea and cake, and befriend those who come.  God is at work making connections, and creating a culture where people feel comfortable to be genuine, and many are happy to be prayed with and talk about spiritual realities, though this isn’t a requirement!

Our vision is for those who are alone to become part of the community, and for them to see a flourishing church community they want to be a part of!  We have seen God doing this, people healed, lost items found after prayer, and strong friendships forged.  Part of the vision is to have people willing and able to visit those who come to the Cafe, and also perhaps those who don’t have sufficient mobility to make it.  If you feel that aligns with your heart, please do get in touch with Carly on 07919 181029.

Or, if you consider yourself anything approaching a ‘senior’, then please come along for a time of refreshing and connection,  on the second and fourth Thursday every month from 10:30am to 12pm.  If you would like to come along but need some help to attend then please call Carly on the above number.  Scooters and all mobility aids are very welcome.
