What we believe
We believe in one God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
We believe Jesus is our King and our friend, who came to rescue us and connect us back to God. Through his life, death, and resurrection, he opened a way for us to have an eternal relationship with God.
The core of God’s heart is reconciliation
God wants to restore our relationship with Him. As His kingdom breaks into our world, God desires to see our lives, communities, and the entire earth changed to reflect the goodness and perfection of heaven.
The Bible
The Bible is God’s authoritative message to us, and it guides our daily lives.
Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is God’s active presence in our lives today, guiding us and empowering us with special gifts to build up our community. We can’t see it – like the wind, but we can sometimes feel the effects of it! (This could be a sense of peace, or love or warmth). When we accept Jesus into our lives the holy spirit lives in us. When Jesus died and rose again, he gave us the gift of the the Holy Spirit is our helper. We can accept this by faith that the Holy Spirit lives in us. Sometimes, for example, in a time of worship – the Holy Spirit may come ‘upon us’ where we have a greater awareness of this presence – making us weep or laugh or be filled with supernatural power. We are all different.
Church
We believe the church isn’t just an event or a building, but a family of people all over the world following Jesus, becoming more and more like him and doing what he did when he walked the earth.
Kingdom Come
We believe that God’s kingdom is here and now, and we live with an expectation for His power to show up in our everyday lives. We expect miracles, healing, and God speaking to us, while also trusting in God’s bigger plan for the future.
Matthew 6:10 “Your Kingdom come, your will be done, as it is in heaven.” This is a line in the Lord’s prayer inviting more of God’s reality in our lives.
What is Communion?
Despite our style being more informal and even contemporary, we still observe a number of highly important traditions, one of which being ‘Holy Communion’ or sometimes referred to as ‘The Eucharist’ or ‘The Lord’s Supper’. This has been something at the heart of Christian worship for two thousand years. We believe that in this moment where we participate in this ritual, remembering who God is and what He has done for us through Jesus, we are nourished by his life. We believe that in these moments, God is present as we receive a piece of bread and drink wine….
