Last month, many stayed for the picnic lunch after the 11am service. As it is half term this week, the BYO lunch will take place on Sunday 18th February.  

Church Lane Cafe at Ashington will be closed next week for half term, and will re-open the following week.

This year, the Women’s World Day of Prayer is being held at Sullington Parish Church at 2pm on Friday 2nd March, with refreshments afterwards at the Barn. The women of Suriname have prepared this year’s service. All are welcome – including men!

As outlined in James’ Christmas letter, we will be holding a Church Weekend ‘at Home’ on Friday 28-Sunday 30 September. Bookings will be open in March, but do put the date in your diaries now!

Hopefully you should have received an email last week about this wonderful opportunity to spend some quality time together as a couple, and to go deeper in your marriage. We are delighted to announce the appointment of Pippa Cleeve to the church staff team, as the Conference Administrator! Pippa has considerable experience in organising events at places such as the South Bank Centre and the Royal Albert Hall! Please be praying for her in her new role.  

9am Morning Worship at Ashington //  10am Holy Communion (BCP) at Washington // 11am Morning Worship at Ashington, with Youth Club, Prayer Ministry and Refreshments from 10.15am // 6pm Set the Fire: uniting young worshippers from across the South Downs area (at Ashington Church).  

We are setting aside next Wednesday as a day of prayer, specifically to ‘call in’ the full-time Children’s Leader in response to our advertisement. Times are: 8.45-9.15am, 1.00-1.30pm and 7.00-7.30pm.  The church will be open throughout the day.   We will also be intentionally praying for ‘Awakening’ across our parish communities.

This is our annual vision evening to update on progress, plans for the future, and to pray together. Worship from 7.40pm – Start at 8.00pm.  We look forward to seeing you there!

Please note that this service will NOT be taking place. There will be Holy Communion at the Ash Wednesday service which will be held the day before, on Wednesday 14 February at 11am in Washington Church.
