A Year with Chanctonbury
The realisation of 2033 means hundreds and thousands of people transformed by God and flourishing in fullness of life.
The year with Chanctonbury seeks to immerse young adults in the vision, values, culture and experience of the Kingdom of God – equipping them for a lifetime of leading and generating Kingdom transformation on the earth. Applications now open for 2023/2024.
A YEAR PURSUING GOD AT CHANCTONBURY
Are you someone who loves young people and has a passion to release their potential and champion their spiritual and emotional growth?
Are you passionate about raising a loving and joyful generation of youth who live the whole of their lives seeing more of the Kingdom of God break in and around them?
Join our Ministry Associate program to become an empowered, equipped and confident Kids or Youth Leader. You’ll learn to grow in vision, planning and leading around spirit-filled Kids or Youth ministry, and you’ll find yourself learning the importance of good administration to see how it builds a strong foundation for ministry, and grow in excellent communication skills.
You’ll have the opportunity to plan and lead sessions, develop new ideas and see them become reality in a ministry context and build friendships with other Ministry Associates. The program lasts for 11 months, running from September to July and offers you a chance to jump in and experience what it’s like to work in ministry.

Outline of the year
Starting your year
We start our year on the 2nd Saturday of September, we will have a week all together as an induction time and then our routine starts with training and serving in ministries.
Throughout your time
• You will have training and equipping from our Senior Team and guest speakers. Over the course of the year, you will be growing in theology, spirituality, life skills and truth of who God is and who you are in Him.
• You will get to serve and gain experience in diverse areas within the church and develop key gifting areas over the year, working to see our vision realised both within the church and the community where we serve.
• You will have the opportunity to work alongside leaders of ministries within Chanctonbury, through this you will get first hand experience of leadership, from the vision to the delivering of your planning.
• You will have a book list to read through to gain knowledge, passion and skills to live a sustained life for God and his Kingdom. There will also be a bible reading challenge throughout the year and some books will be required reading and we will ask for a report on those books. These can be formal writing, or video or anything creative. Others are there for you to dive into for your own personal growth and study. We believe in developing your own spiritual disciplines, we will guide you in this and encourage you to create your own ‘Rule of Life’.
• You will be paired with a spiritual mentor who will be there to support you and pray for you throughout your year, as well as being placed into one of our Kingdom Family Communities where you will get to know and develop relationships with the wider church, as well as being welcomed into the thriving Young Adult community.
• You will have the opportunity to go on an outreach mission trip to serve communities and share the love of God with them.
• In all these things you will build a strong community with your Year With Chanctonbury team and the wider staff team within the church.
Ending the year
We will give you training and support as you seek God as to what he is calling you to next in your life. We put no limits on where God might take you next, university, the business world, ministry, charity, overseas, further training, all things are possible.
