We are looking for one or two enthusiastic gardeners to maintain the Garden of Remembrance within Ashington’s Churchyard. The garden was planted about nine years ago with suitable rabbit and deer proof plants and needs approximately 4 hours work each month to maintain, with more time in late winter to prune roses and Cornus. The tidiness and beauty of the Garden of Remembrance is invariably mentioned by those who have interred the ashes of loved ones. It means such a lot to them. It’s also a great opportunity to meet and chat with people from the Village over the hedge! To find out more please enquire to the Church Office or talk to John Stewart: johnstewart908@hotmail.com
