Parish Unification

Over the last two years our three parishes in the Benefice have been moving towards formally uniting as a single Parish.  We believe this step will help us work together more closely across our area and be a powerful symbol of our unity as we seek to advance the Kingdom of God here in our land.  There are some formal processes to go through to achieve this, the last of which is now under way.  This is approval by the Church Commissioners, the body that deals with matters such as this for the Church of England.   The Commissioners have now published the legal Scheme to implement this and there is a public consultation period which runs to 27 February 2019.  Copies of the notices and details of how you can make your views known, either for or against, can be found near all the church doors in the Benefice, and you can also view them on our website here.  If you would like a copy or wish to discuss this further please feel free to contact your PCC Secretary or Caroline Armitage, our Lay Reader who has been leading on this process for us: caroline.armitage@chanctonbury.org.uk
